The Sound of Modesty

The Sound of Modesty is a Leeds and Bristol project blending alternative rock, heavy metal and avant-garde influences, crafting music that balances emotional vulnerability with a raw intensity. Described as “all at once mesmerising and thought-provoking” by Reform the Funk (2020), the band occupy a space where heaviness and introspection collide. Together they’ve played across the UK, opening the weekend at Liverpool Sound City (2021), appearing on Apple Music: Creative London Studios’ line up (2021), and supporting Tricot on their 2023 UK tour. Each performance has further cemented their reputation for emotionally charged, immersive live shows. After a brief hiatus, the band returned with “Safe in Your Arms”, a slow burning heavy ballad about distance and emotional drift that quickly became a fan favourite. Their latest release “No Face”, the first single from their new EP: A Thousand Dreams pushes into heavier territory, confronting themes of identity and emotional exposure.
