Yuko is a Japanese-born pianist and composer whose dynamic blend of jazz, classical, R&B, and blues is captivating audiences around the world. Beginning classical piano at the age of four in her hometown of Fukui, she later gravitated toward American genres, ultimately finding her voice in jazz. Her multicultural influences shape a sound that’s as refined as it is soulful. In 2016, she moved to Los Angeles, where her talent quickly gained recognition. She has performed at top venues such as Walt Disney Concert Hall, SFJazz, the Segerstrom Center, the Richmond, Atlanta and Monterey Jazz Festivals. Known for performing in elegant kimonos, Mabuchi bridges cultures and genres, celebrating jazz as a truly global art form. Her seven albums trace an impressive artistic evolution, from her early student recordings to acclaimed releases with Yarlung Records, which earned praise in the audiophile world. Her performances are known for their emotional depth, technical brilliance, and cultural resonance. In addition to her performance career, Mabuchi has shown deep commitment to arts education, volunteering as an accompanist for ten years with the Watts-Willowbrook Youth Orchestra.
