They Owe Us, the artist project of musician and producer Kristoffer Ragnstam, has never been one to chase the spotlight. Yet, in peaking behind the curtain of his two decade long career in the alternative music scene, his curiosity has led him to explore unexpected territories, whether headlining his own tours or in sharing stages with the likes of Debbie Harry, Mumford & Sons, and kanekoayano in supporting roles. His mantra: following songs wherever they lead, even if, and especially when, the path feels uncertain. Notably, his work has reached #1 on the Billboard charts in Japan and landed in the Top 30 of U.S. college radio (NACC) with All on RED, proof that even less brazen voices can travel just as far. This autumn, the Swedish musician returns with a brand new album, Katzengold, out for release on September 25, 2026, a musical experience that finds him chasing, intervening, drifting and slipping into chaos, yet miraculously arriving headfirst on the other side. Though he may never be interested in the spotlight itself, Kristoffer has learned a thing or two about meeting whatever comes his way, whether that pulls him closer to the stage or further into the deep end.
