Trio Concept was formed in 2013 from the youthful encounter of three musicians from Turin, Edoardo Grieco (violin), Francesco Massimino (cello) and Lorenzo Nguyen (piano). Trio Concept was named an ECHO Rising Star for the 2025/2026 season and, following a three-week residency at the 2024 Verbier Festival Academy, was honoured with the Prix Yves Paternot, the festival’s highest honour in recognition of outstanding talent and potential. In 2023, the ensemble became a YCAT Artist after a triumphant final performance at Wigmore Hall, London. That same year, it secured first prize at the Schoenfeld International Competition in Harbin, China, and was selected as the ensemble in residence for ProQuartet in Paris. Edoardo Grieco plays a Carlo Antonio and Giovanni Testore violin made in Milan in 1764 and Francesco Massimino plays the ‘Rhine Gold’ cello made by Gaetano Sgarabotto in 1948 in Milan.
