Hailing from Virginia, Üga Büga fuses the weight of Mastodon, Soundgarden, High On Fire, and The Mars Volta into a force of rock and heavy metal. Their sound is matched by fantastical lyrics of hog men, sinister wizards, and dual-wielding warriors ripping across apocalyptic landscapes on motorcycles, evoking the spirit of TMNT, Dragon Ball, and classic comics. Riding high after their 2024 debut Year of the Hog landed on the Doom Charts, ÜGA BÜGA now prepares to unleash their next chapter: Valley of the Wolf. The band has earned a reputation as a sonic outlier through relentless touring across the eastern U.S. Their explosive shows have landed them slots opening for national acts like Nothing More, Darkest Hour, Castle Rat, King Buffalo, and SpiritWorld, as well as festival appearances at Does It Doom’s Seismic Summer Fest and Doomed and Stoned Fest. Fans and peers throw countless labels at them, but the consensus is always the same: unique and heavy. Their growing presence even led to an international tour in Japan. Formed in 2021, ÜGA BÜGA honed their sound through lineup changes before solidifying in late 2022 with Calloway Jones (vocals/guitar), Niko Cvetanovich (bass), and Jimmy Czywczynski (drums). This lineup forged the massive sound that defined Year of the Hog—and sets the stage for the world of Űga Büga.
