They take aim at regressive far-right policies, spreading awareness of the rising threat of fascism, and the destruction of our planet by exploitative corporations. Their recent single “Nakba” tackled the horrors of the Palestinian genocide and the misplaced trust in the interventionist global superpowers that have either caused the ethnic cleansing or directly funded it. Viatorem makes music for the working masses, and the people are answering. Their new single, “Kill Your Idols” is no different. In contrast to previous work, Viatorem takes an angrier and more direct approach with “Kill Your Idols,” no holds barred, no remorse. Focusing on the untrustworthy elite few at the top of our food chain, the lyrics condemn their actions and their constant impunity. The instruments reflect this with a constant onslaught of heaviness; rhythmic chugs within the fast, unrelenting tempo give little time to ease or relax. You’ve no choice but to be enveloped by the anger - every riff, breakdown, even the chorus have you in a vice grip, reiterating the same message over and over: “PREPARE THE GALLOWS - KILL YOUR IDOLS.”
