In 2018, New Orleans couple Christy and Mike formed Vuzz to busk electronic music across Europe. Three months traveling by train meant the whole rig had to fit in one carry-on suitcase. Armed with only a couple battery-powered mini-synths and a few iPhone apps, Vuzz performed on a train through the Belgian countryside, a rooftop overlooking Mt. Vesuvius, the streets of Polish Old Towns, and the Royal Mile as an official act of Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Back in the U.S., Vuzz honed their craft, busking in the street-music mecca of the New Orleans French Quarter, as well as playing in clubs around town. Like many, Covid-19 was hard on the couple, with profound trauma and the loss of Christy’s son nearly stopping Vuzz in its tracks. After months of healing and hardship, the couple found the strength to record their first full-length album, completely at home in lockdown at their New Orleans home. In 2021, Vuzz gave up their home and possessions in favor of a completely DIY van conversion. Together, they built the "Vuzzvan" to pursue their dream of playing music and seeing the world. During this time, in 2022, they released the debut album and were featured on the popular Youtube channel, Tiny Home Tours. Today, Vuzz makes its home in Brooklyn, New York, performing as part of the Brooklyn Eclectic Electronic Music collective. They are currently working on their second album.
Vuzz plays cinematic electronic art-rock infused with trip-hop, synthpop, and psychedelic textures using DIY hybrid instruments.
Vuzz is a duo consisting of Christy and Mike.
