Walter Schreifels

Walter Schreifels is an influential American musician, songwriter, and producer best known for his pioneering work in the New York hardcore and post-hardcore scenes. Born on March 10, 1969, Schreifels first gained recognition in the late 1980s as a member of the seminal hardcore band Youth of Today before going on to form Gorilla Biscuits, where he served as the principal songwriter and guitarist. In the 1990s, he helped shape the sound of post-hardcore with Quicksand, a band known for blending aggressive riffs with melodic and introspective elements. Schreifels has also been involved in numerous other projects, including Rival Schools, Walking Concert, and solo acoustic work, showcasing his versatility and evolving musical style.
