Underground καλλιτέχνης jazz
Band leader Willie Green III is a talented drummer and composer from LaPlace, Louisiana, now based in New Orleans. His interest in drums began when he played gospel music in his dad's church during his childhood. After moving to New Orleans to attend Loyola University in 2011, Willie had the opportunity to study with some of the city's top drummers, such as Herlin Riley. He joined Delfeayo Marsalis' Uptown Jazz Orchestra as their drummer during his junior year at Loyola. Willie's experience with the orchestra and school inspired him to form the Willie Green Project. The band's mission is to bring people together through live music, share inspiring stories through original music, educate the next generation of musicians, and spread the joy and culture of modern New Orleans music worldwide. Their style is influenced by greats like John Coltrane, Stravinsky, Nicholas Payton, and Louis Armstrong. Since 2018, they have been playing weekly at Bacchanal in New Orleans and touring the United States. Their catalog includes one album, "Love Will Find a Way," and an EP, "Pharaoh's Dream." The band hopes to continue spreading their message of peace to worldwide audiences through their music.
