First album from XIVIS. XIVIS is the musical project of Salvador Burrell, known for his work as the drummer in bands such as Los Howlers (CL), Romanticos (CL), Chicos de Nazca (DE), and most recently Imperial Drones (DE). In XIVIS, Burrell plays guitars, drums, and vocals, joined by Sophie Soft on vocals and backing vocals. Together, they wrote and composed their debut album "Se va la oscuridad" (Darkness Leaves) amidst the sun-drenched landscapes of Mexico in 2022 and 2023, before completing it in the contrasting backdrop of Berlin’s winter. The album explores themes of love and the vastness of the universe, reflecting on the fleeting nature of life. Each track captures a moment in time, echoing the changing seasons. Through this work, XIVIS conveys a message of hope and resilience, offering a reminder of love’s enduring presence even in challenging times.
