yeemz

yeemz (Yi-Mei Templeman) is a cellist, singer-songwriter, and composer from California. She is the founding cellist of internationally acclaimed classical piano trio, Trio Gaia, the most recent trio in-residence at New England Conservatory. yeemz reimagines her cello as a guitar, and blends her classical roots with contemporary songwriting. As "yeemz," she writes, produces, and records her own music. She also records and arranges strings for pop artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Madison Beer, and has enjoyed scoring music for short films and opening for artist such as Billie Marten and American Football on tour. When not playing cello—sideways or vertically— yeemz can be found baking cookies for friends, reading surrealist fiction, shopping on Depop, or rock climbing.
