Matthew Whitaker is a multi-instrumentalist, Grammy-winning, Emmy and NAACP Image Award-nominated bandleader, composer, and arranger. Born blind, his musical journey began at age three when his grandfather gifted him a keyboard. Since then, he has performed globally and been featured on major programs like 60 Minutes, the Today Show, and Ellen. As a multifaceted artist, Matthew starred in and scored the Emmy-nominated documentary "About Tomorrow" and composed for the film "Starkeisha." In 2023, he debuted as musical director for the award-winning musical "Billy Strayhorn: Something to Live For."
