MonoNeon, the American bassist and musician from Memphis, Tennessee, is known for his highly followed YouTube performances and for being one of the last artists to work with Prince. Born Dwayne Thomas, Jr., he has released 25 solo albums since 2010 and won a Grammy Award for his contribution to Nas's 2020 album King's Disease. His musical style spans avant-garde, southern soul, and funk. A child prodigy from a musical family, he developed his unique technique playing alongside his father, Dwayne Thomas, Sr., often incorporating effects and unconventional approaches to the bass. He is also recognized for his collaborations with artists such as Mac Miller, Ne-Yo, and George Clinton, and performs as the bassist for the band Ghost-Note.
