DORK Summer Series: Venus Grrrls & Witch Fever

Ethereal and tenacious, Venus Grrrls are an all girl rock band from Leeds, promoting the participation, acknowledgement, and respect of women in the music industry. Aiming to bring fortitude and activism through hard hitting alternative rock music, the quintet use electronic and astrological sounds to amplify their sonic signature. Concocting a potent sonic assault that recalls the foreboding darkness of Black Sabbath, Savages’ monochrome post-punk and the dirty breathlessness of Bleach-era Nirvana, the Manchester quartet Witch Fever create a confrontational racket that takes no prisoners. Refusing to be confined by gender or genre, Witch Fever have always defied expectations as individuals in society. Their debut album, Congregation, is the sound of punk without boundaries, ushering in a new era of heavy music that’s accessible, confrontational and a huge pressure release.
