Thomas MacMillan
Underground, αργή βραδιά ambient
Thomas MacMillan is a composer and guitarist from the remote Pennines region of northern England. Now based in Berlin, he writes music for solo guitar inspired by horror films, liminal spaces, and video game soundtracks—creating an atmospheric soundscape that feels both familiar and unsettling. On July 17, he will perform his compositions for the first time at Cafe Karanfil. His repertoire includes works from his EP Negative Space, a concept album about liminal spaces and eerie architecture, as well as his more recent release Nervous System, an EP on the theme of anxiety, in which each track explores a different facet of this fundamental human emotion. His music conjures vivid, cinematic imagery while showcasing the impressive sonic range that the nylon-string guitar has to offer.
