The Clarinet Trio presents a unique program focusing on West German jazz compositions from 1950 to 1970. Celebrating 25 years of performance, the ensemble features an unmistakable acoustic sound created solely by three clarinets, without electronics or a rhythm section. The concert reimagines works by influential postwar jazz figures including Albert Mangelsdorff, Karl Berger, and Manfred Schoof. The performance highlights the cultural connection between East and West Germany, referencing historical meeting places like Ulrich Gumpert’s garden house where jazz musicians from both sides of the Berlin Wall gathered.
