DJ Krush

A pioneer of instrumental hip-hop and turntablism, DJ Krush will perform on the Central stage at La Machine du Moulin Rouge. Starting his career in 1980s Tokyo after being inspired by the film Wild Style, he founded the Krush Posse before going solo in 1992. Recognized as the first DJ to use turntables as a live instrument, his style blends hip-hop with jazz and soul influences from artists like Miles Davis. His extensive discography includes landmark albums like Butterfly Effect and his 2024 independent release Saisei, which continues his exploration of sound beyond traditional boundaries.
