A spiritually charged concert exploring the veil between heaven and earth through music that opens in contemplation and ends in the blaze of ascension and transfiguration. The program features Lili Boulanger’s haunting prayer Vieille prière bouddhique, Szymanowski’s intimate Stabat mater, the unearthly beauty of Messiaen’s L’Ascension, and Richard Strauss’s Death and Transfiguration.
