Trumpet player and producer Milena Casado performs live material from her album Reflection of Another Self. Tickets on Mood.
Originally from Spain and based in New York, trumpeter, composer, and producer Milena Casado studied at Berklee. She has since performed alongside Terri Lyne Carrington, Vijay Iyer, Aaron Parks, and Kris Davis, while developing a distinct artistic universe where the influences of Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter meet synthesizers, sampled vocals, and the freedom of improvisation. Her debut album Reflection of Another Self, released in 2025 on Candid Records, translates an intimate journey into musical material. Co-produced with Terri Lyne Carrington and Morgan Guerin, the record explores identity, vulnerability, and self-affirmation, featuring collaborations with Meshell Ndegeocello and Brandee Younger in a dialogue between acoustic instruments and electronic textures.
