Atemporal welcomes Ziggy Zeitgeist for an intimate listening session exploring the roots of electronic music. Ziggy Zeitgeist, a prominent figure in Berlin’s contemporary jazz movement, founder of Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange (ZFE*X) and Energy Exchange Records, and drummer for 30/70, guides audiences through proto-techno, new wave, krautrock, and electro funk. Part of an ongoing research project stemming from a residency in Detroit, this listening journey traces the musical and cultural exchanges between Detroit, Germany, and beyond that sparked the emergence of techno.
