Karate Boogaloo

Karate Boogaloo stands at the heart of Melbourne's flourishing instrumental cinematic soul scene. Rooted in DIY soul aesthetics, childhood friends Henry Jenkins, Hudson Whitlock, Callum Riley, and Darvid Thor have been playing funk together since their school days, drawing inspiration from small instrumental ensembles like Booker T & The MG's and The Meters. A pillar of Melbourne's underground scene for over a decade, the band has cultivated a rich catalog blending unique eccentricity, including their acclaimed 'KB's Mixtapes' series, three original albums ('Carn The Boogers' in 2020, 'Hold Your Horses' in 2024, and 'Access All Areas'), and collaborations with American singer Danielle Ponder.
