SOYUZ

Originally from Minsk, Belarus, and currently based in Warsaw, the SOYUZ collective is led by multi-instrumentalists Alex Chumak and Mikita Arlou. Joined by drummer Albert Karch and guitarist Igor Wiśniewski, the group crafts rich orchestrations blending jazz, folk, and pop. Their breakthrough album 'Force of the Wind' earned critical acclaim from Bandcamp and BBC Radio. Their latest project, 'KROK' (meaning 'step'), was released through Mr Bongo and marks the first time Chumak has written in his native Belarusian. The album was recorded between São Paulo and Warsaw, featuring collaborations with prominent Brazilian musicians. It showcases a global musical palette including folk ballads and cinematic jazz-pop arrangements with lush string and brass sections.
