Makandra is a celebration in honor of Keti Koti, marking the abolition of slavery. The evening features a combination of reflection and celebration through music and dance. Attendees can enjoy a dynamic performance by the musical trio Rens, Jaïr & Ome Uncle, alongside various dance performances by Solid Ground Movement, BOINK, and other talented artists. A central part of the event is the sharing of Heri Heri, a traditional one-pot dish of tubers, bananas, salted fish, and egg that connects the Afro-diaspora with their history and ancestors. This gathering is part of the national 'Free Heri Heri For All' initiative by KIP Republic.
