Friday night at Jamboree with Imperio Bamba and their superb Peruvian rebel chicha, bringing their live show that comprises of a dance-driven Latin American psychedelic ritual: immersive, euphoric, and joyful. Headliners Imperio Bamba bring together a bold fusion of hypnotic Afro-Latin rhythms such as cumbia, salsa and reggaeton with psychedelic synths and guitars. Now expanded into a six-piece band of first-generation migrant musicians from South America, their storytelling and Spanglish delivery treat language as a rhythmic force. Support comes from Hit La Rosa, who embody the transgressive and mystical spirit of Peruvian cumbia today. Their sound, layered with other Latin genres and wrapped in dark psychedelia, has positioned them as a burgeoning international group, known for their participation in the NPR Tiny Desk concert series.
