Founded in 1978 in Peacehaven near Brighton by 17-year-olds Peter Bywaters and Del Strangefish, Peter and the Test Tube Babies quickly rose to fame in the UK punk scene. Their early success was fueled by support from Radio 1 DJ John Peel and the hit single 'Banned From The Pubs'. Their debut album 'Pissed And Proud' reached #1 on the English independent charts, followed by the highly successful 'The Mating Sounds Of South American Frogs'. Throughout several decades and lineup changes, founding songwriters Peter and Del have remained the band's core, releasing notable albums like 'Soberphobia' and 'Supermodels'. In recent years, they have continued their momentum with releases like 'That Shallot' and 'Fuctifano' under Arising Empire Records, maintaining their reputation as one of punk rock's most enduring and entertaining live acts.
