I-D.A Projects presents a three-night residency for members of The Los Angeles Free Music Society (LAFMS) and Extended Organ. Paul McCarthy is a highly influential contemporary American artist, known for his multidisciplinary work spanning performance, film, and sculpture. Joe Potts, a founding member of LAFMS, performs on the “Chopped Optigan,” a customized optical sampling console. Rick Potts is an improviser and instrument maker who creates unique sounds using musical saws and hinge-neck guitars. Alex Stevens is a multidisciplinary artist and musician active in various LA-based experimental acts. The residency explores sonic interaction over droning substrates, straddling the profound and the profane in a series of collaborative performances with special guests.
