A.B.E.L.A (Asociación de Bateristas Electrónicos de Latinoamerica), also known as “El Sindicato”, is an inclusive and transdisciplinary collective of Latinx percussionists. The group explores technological relationships with ancestral rhythms from across the American continent, including Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Puerto Rico. Their mission combines the pursuit of equal rights for percussionists with high-energy performances designed for dancing. This event is part of Tropical Vortex, Barbès' long-running series showcasing diverse tropical styles from Latin America, featuring live bands and resident DJs playing cumbia, chicha, guaguanco, mambo, and other vintage and contemporary sounds.
