The Discus Music residency at the Horse Hospital features Hi Res Heart, an improvising ensemble where spaciousness and fire co-exist. The group creates a direct and melodic flow that reacts to the moment, blending abstract improvisation with the spirit of the blues. Their unique percussion setup of drums, hand percussion, and vibraphone provides a constantly shifting textural and rhythmic counterpoint. This performance includes creative dance accompaniment by Melanie Little. Hi Res Heart is one of three rotating artists in this monthly concert series, which showcases experimental jazz and free improvisation from the Sheffield-based Discus Music label.
