Songs & Stories places a leading UK music figure centre stage alongside multi-award-winning singer, pianist and broadcaster Ian Shaw. Intimate, revealing and often hilarious, the series combines live performance with candid conversation, as Shaw explores the stories behind the songs, the stage and life on the road. August's guest is the award-winning journalist, broadcaster and Financial Times restaurant critic Jay Rayner, known for his work on MasterChef and as presenter of BBC Radio 4's Kitchen Cabinet. He'll be celebrating his brand new book, Nights Out In The Kitchen: More Recipes and Stories from a Restaurant Critic's Life. Jay moves easily between piano and provocation, seasoning anecdotes with quick-witted observations about food, music and the shared pleasures of both.
