Mop Mop is the project of Italian multi-instrumentalist and producer Andrea Benini, who has been creating a hypnotic sound cocktail of tropical percussion, funk, and vintage vibes for over two decades. His distinctive "Voodoo Jazz" combines jazz elements with afrobeat and the cinematic soundtracks of 50s and 60s Italian cinema into a unique, postmodern soundscape. Together with his electronic trio and the charismatic voice of Trinidadian poet Anthony Joseph, whose performance recalls legends like Gil Scott-Heron, Benini creates an atmosphere that is equally soulful, eccentric, and deeply rooted in Afro-Caribbean rhythms.
