Bikini Kill

Bikini Kill is a seminal feminist punk band that emerged in 1990, playing a pivotal role in the Riot Grrrl movement. Known for their confrontational live shows, political lyrics, and activism, the band inspired a generation of women to form their own bands and participate in the punk scene. Originally based in Olympia, WA and Washington, DC, the group released a series of influential EPs, LPs, and singles before disbanding in 1997. After a hiatus, the band reunited in 2019 featuring original members Kathleen Hanna, Tobi Vail, and Kathi Wilcox, joined by Erica Dawn Lyle. They have since sold out numerous shows across major global cities, continuing their legacy as icons of independent media and feminist community-building.
