A truly extraordinary artist, Andy Statman began his career in the 70’s as a virtuoso mandolinist who performed with David Grisman before becoming a major architect of the Klezmer revival. His music draws from Hassidic melodies, folk tunes, and Albert Ayler-influenced free improvisation, resulting in a personal search for the sacred rooted in both tradition and introspection. Tickets are $20 for admission and half the room is standing-only. Arriving 30 minutes early is recommended for those seeking a seat.
