David Bowie has always been a major source of inspiration for saxophonist Yuri Honing. It was David Sanborn's solo on Bowie's Young Americans that inspired a young Honing to pick up the saxophone. Now, the Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet explores Bowie's legacy using their 'reworks' method, where elements of his music, art, and innovative spirit serve as the foundation for new material. The quartet is celebrated for its immersive, cinematic group sound, carving out a unique space in the international jazz scene. The ensemble features a lineup of seasoned bandleaders, including Wolfert Brederode, Joost Lijbaart, and Gulli Gudmundsson.
