Experience East of the Sun, a unique neoclassical concert featuring Cello Octet Amsterdam, Saskia Rao-de Haas, and international guest soloists.
Met het Cello Octet Amsterdam als verbindende factor klinken uiteenlopende invloeden uit de hele wereld. De Nederlands-Indiase Saskia Rao-de Haas bewerkte haar orkestwerk Song of Water voor sitar, cello octet en Indiase cello, een kleinere maat cello die je zittend op de grond bespeelt. Kayhan Kalhor is een van de invloedrijkste hedendaagse componisten en uitvoerders binnen de Iraanse klassieke muziek. Joël Bons maakte in 2016 furore met zijn Nomaden voor cello en het Atlas Ensemble. De opvolger van dit stuk is het succesvolle Atlas Orchestra Book 1 & 2 dat hij componeerde voor het Holland Festival in 2025. Hierin was een prominente rol weggelegd voor de twee internationaal geprezen Chinese erhuspelers, de solisten in het nieuwe werk voor het Cello Octet Amsterdam.
