Following last year’s sold-out show, The Sugarhill Gang and The Furious 5 return to perform the foundation-building tracks that pushed rap from the Bronx into the global mainstream. The Sugarhill Gang changed music in 1979 with "Rapper’s Delight", a record that turned a party groove into a cultural milestone. Their sound continues to carry the loose, playful energy of early hip-hop with big basslines and classic crowd chants. They are joined by The Furious 5, whose record "The Message" proved hip-hop could be a sharp social commentary while maintaining its rhythm.
