Iwal - Harmonies Des Aurès
Underground, αργή βραδιά folk
Bassin de la Villette face au, 34 Quai de la Loire, 75019 Paris
Harmonies des Aurès, the newest production by IWAL, is an immersive sensory journey blending live music and storytelling. Three musicians weave a rich acoustic universe: Nesrine provides vocals, ukulele, and harmonica alongside percussion; Fayssal contributes vocals and guitar; and Lucas Fovet plays the gasba flute. Together, they create a living dialogue between traditional songs and original compositions. The performance unfolds as an internal crossing, evoking a mythical ancient world where humans lived in harmony with nature and songs were addressed to Anzar, the god of rain. As the narrative explores themes of exile, loss, and separation, music serves as a form of resistance and healing. The ancient melodies carry a living memory capable of bridging divides and giving meaning to the present. This experience sits at the intersection of a concert and a recital, using music as a universal language to explore our connections to each other and the world around us.
