Ωμή, νοσταλγική βραδιά tabla
Ragas & Reveries returns to St Saviour’s Church for an evening featuring the "Jugalbandi" tradition of Indian classical music. The performance highlights a duet between Sitar and Sarod, instruments central to Hindustani classical music, exploring melody and spontaneous rhythmic interplay. Beginning with the unhurried development of the raga, the concert builds towards energetic exchanges between the performers. Set in the intimate and atmospheric surroundings of St Saviour’s, the event offers a unique experience of centuries-old musical traditions developed live on stage. Lakshay Mohan and Aayush Mohan are acclaimed musicians known for their sitar–sarod duet performances. Selected by Pandit Ravi Shankar for their US debut, they were the first Indian classical duo to perform at the Grammy Museum. They have performed at major international festivals and collaborated with renowned artists like Anoushka Shankar. Pandit Sanju Sahai is a highly sought-after 6th generation tabla artist of the Benares lineage. A disciple of Pt. Sharada Sahai, he has performed in over 40 countries alongside legends such as Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.
