This transatlantic quartet delivers a fiery, toe-tapping interpretation of traditional folk sounds from the Pacific coast of Colombia. The group is built around singer Alejandra Charry and percussionist Moises Zamora Mezù, both of whom grew up together in the same small village. Saxophonist Sakina Abdou and bassist Thibault Cellier stretch and build on those imperturbable grooves with exploratory improvisations unbound by any musical tradition.
