Producer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist Sly5thAve returns with a 12-piece ensemble to perform classical arrangements of Roy Ayers’ catalogue. A pioneering jazz-funk vibraphonist and producer, Ayers continues to be one of the most heavily sampled artists of all time by legends like Kendrick Lamar and A Tribe Called Quest. In tribute, the performance features reimaginings of contemporary works containing Roy Ayers samples. The evening includes an opening DJ set by Illijahbeats followed by Linafornia, who will perform a set honoring the 20th anniversary of J Dilla’s celebrated Donuts album.
