Koninklijk Theater Carré presenteert de wereldpremière van de vernieuwde versie van The Last Ship, de geprezen musical van muziekicoon Sting. De wereldster speelt zelf de hoofdrol van Jackie White, de voorman van de scheepswerf in zijn geboortestad Wallsend. Het is een indrukwekkend eerbetoon aan de arbeidersgemeenschap, familiebanden en het vasthouden aan hoop in een veranderende wereld.
