Songs in the Key of Life at 50: Symposium

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Stevie Wonder's seminal album Songs in the Key of Life, the Columbia Center for the Study of Social Difference hosts a full-day symposium examining the work's historical and cultural significance. Across four panel discussions dedicated to each side of the double album, scholars and musicians engage in dialogue and musical demonstrations addressing civil rights legacies, jazz, and Black artistic expression. The day culminates with an evening reception and a live jam session focused on the album's bonus tracks.
