Philharmonischer Chor Berlin

For Christmas, the Berlin Philharmonic Choir presents a selection of works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Benjamin Britten. The program begins with Mendelssohn’s "Hör mein Bitten", followed by the "Die Geburt Christi" fragment and the cantata "Vom Himmel hoch", based on Luther’s Christmas hymn. After the intermission, the choir performs Britten’s "Saint Nicolas", a cantata depicting the life of the patron saint of children and sailors as a powerful personality. The performance features the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt under the direction of conductor Florian Benfer.
