Noriko Amano van Baaren was trained at the conservatories of Tokyo and The Hague and studied musicology at Keio University. She enjoys great prestige as an interpreter of French Baroque music and has recorded countless CDs of Baroque music. Noriko is the driving force behind the 'Pearls in Baroque' series, which has been successfully running in the Small Hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam since 2019. She plays on her own instrument, a copy built by Anthony Sidey of the famous Hemsch harpsichord from 1751. The program features a cross-section of European Baroque music including works by Johann Jakob Froberger, Henry Purcell, Elisabeth Jaques de La Guerre, JS Bach, François Couperin, Jean-Philippe Rameau, and Domenica Scarlatti.
