In this performance, Catalan composer Joan Magrané Figuera dialogues with his predecessors. Having studied in Barcelona, Graz, and Paris, Magrané Figuera blends avant-garde techniques with a deep passion for early music. Alongside the Chœur de chambre Les Éléments and the Ensemble intercontemporain, he explores the Leçons de Ténèbres, a pinnacle of liturgical music, where the poems of Jacint Verdaguer meet the Lamentations of Jeremiah.
