Desires and Practices launches the public programme for Field Studies: Present Tense with an evening of three intimate and experimental performances. Bhanu Kapil presents collaborative responses and short works developed alongside participants over the course of the day, gathering together to share food and collective daal cooking. Edka Jarząb presents The Autobiography of the Voice, an exploratory sonic inquiry into vocal expression using collective singing, field recordings, radio frequencies, and protest warm-ups. Closing the evening, Marf Summers presents Cold Bridge, investigating trans embodiment through contemporary folk horror and multi-sensory performance.
