The Street, Westfield stratford city, Montfichet Rd, London E20 1EJ
Pieces of a Dream emerged out of Philadelphia's music scene in 1976. The group based their name on "Pieces of Dreams," a cover tune by Stanley Turrentine. After gaining popularity in Philadelphia, the trio served as the house band for the local TV show City Lights. Their experience expanded as they backed various artists, leading to a pivotal discovery by jazz legend Grover Washington, Jr. Following their time as Washington's rhythm section and opening act, the band released three influential albums in the early 80s: Pieces of a Dream, We Are One, and Imagine This. These recordings, featuring hits like "Warm Weather" and "Mount Airy Groove," established them as key figures in the smooth jazz genre. Over their career, they have recorded numerous albums for Elektra and EMI/Blue Note, continuing to define their musical essence.
