Víddir
Underground βραδιά electroacoustic
Breitscheidplatz, 10789 Berlin
Originally composed for Grundtvig's Church in Copenhagen, Víddir for nine flutes, three percussionists, bass guitar, and double bass now celebrates its German premiere at Berlin's Memorial Church. This work by Bára Gísladóttir transforms the church space into a living sound body. The audience sits cocooned in a circle between the instrument groups: the sound wanders, rises, falls, and spreads in waves and layers. At the same time, the instruments merge into a single organic voice. Víddir creates a spatially and acoustically immersive experience where dimensions, directions, and characteristics of the instruments are woven into a pulsating soundscape.
