The Sonic Pluriverse Festival presents Global Echoes of Gnawa, featuring a night of concerts and DJ sets. Mehdi Nassouli, a master guembri player from Taroudant, opens the evening. He blends Gnawa traditions with Moroccan cultures like Amazigh and Malhoun, having studied with great maalems across the country. Gnawa Diffusion, founded by Amazigh Kateb, follows with their signature mix of Gnawa, reggae, dub, rock, and hip-hop. The group is renowned for their political edge and anthemic sounds that became symbols of hope during the Algerian civil war. The night concludes with a DJ set at the Magnus Hirschfeld Bar.
