Cape Verdean Folk εκδηλώσεις στην πόλη Λισαβόνα

Cape Verdean folk music is a rich tapestry of styles originating from the Atlantic archipelago, deeply influenced by Portuguese, African, and Brazilian traditions. Central to this genre is the morna, a melancholic, poetic song form often accompanied by the cavaquinho, guitar, and violin, characterized by its soulful lyrics about 'saudade' or longing. Other foundational styles include the rhythmic coladeira and the accordion-driven funaná, which provide a lively contrast with their upbeat tempos and danceable grooves. This folk tradition serves as a cultural bridge between Lusophone Africa and the broader Atlantic world, often blending acoustic instrumentation with complex, syncopated rhythms that reflect the islands' unique history of migration and isolation.
