Czech Folk εκδηλώσεις στο Λονδίνο

Czech folk music, or lidová hudba, originates from the historic regions of Bohemia, Moravia, and Silesia, evolving over centuries from rural traditions into a distinct cultural pillar. Characterized by instrumentation such as the accordion, violin, clarinet, and the Moravian cimbalom, the genre features rhythmic structures like the energetic 2/4 polka and the melodic 3/4 waltz. The mood oscillates between festive communal celebration and poignant storytelling, often reflecting pastoral life and national identity through localized dialects. Historically, it serves as the foundational root for both Czech classical compositions and the contemporary tramp music movement, maintaining a structural bridge between liturgical chants and secular dance melodies.
